M.Sc. Liliya Angelova
Liliya Angelova PhD student
Research and professional experience:
Liliya Angelova is a physicist at laboratory “Micro Nano Photonics”, Institute of Electronics, BAS. She received her B.Sc. degree in molecular biology from the Faculty of Biology, Sofia University, Bulgaria, where she also received an M.Sc. degree in Biochemistry. She is actively working in the field of femtosecond laser surface modification and its application as a non-invasive method for the optimization of a biocompatible polymer and ceramic materials in the form of cells seeding scaffolds for the needs of tissue engineering. Her education gives her advantage in adapting the femtosecond modification methods for functionalization of implant surfaces, in terms of the subtle mechanisms of cell interaction with the thus created biocompatible matrixes.
Interests: fs laser-matter interaction and applications, regenerative medicine, tissue engineering, biomaterials, 2D and 3D cells engineered scaffolds, cell adhesion, and proliferation, etc.
